I was on the speed team at Empire Skates on Erie Blvd, I also worked at Empire. I remember the rivalry between the two rinks.

Mark I do remember you. I worked the snack bar for most of the 80's and 90's. I'm sure that others remember you too. I went back to the rink in 2001 to manage the rink until the day we closed November 16, 2008. It was a very sad day. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos, they are mostly my personal photos from years gone by.This is my husbands and my website we try to update it whenever we can. Guys, you do not remember me?? I should try to find pics of me during high school and in early 1990s and have it scanned and post in classic photos. This would be helpful for you guys to remember me. I know, my gray hair has gotten more gray and I am heavier these days.

I do not remember ANY of you guys. Those classic pics only helps me remember the hairstyles, the rink, etc.. but NO one except for Mark Colvin.

I guess I just only paid to get in and put skates on and went skating.. and asked too many girls to skate with me in 1980s and a few ladies in 1990s.

I had 3 girlfriends I met at the Rink. They were Brenda Turner in 1985, Becky Hahn in 1986 or 87, and Mindy Walsh in 1990.

I will also never forget my best night ever at the rink in 1983.. August 1983 to be exact. It was raining out.. nice cool out.. I brought my friend Rick to have fun with me at the rink. We went skating and then off to the dance center only to find TWO females there. LOL. No one was dancing that night. So, Rick and I talked.. Then I noticed one of the two girls came up to me and asked me to dance with and I said sure.. so I asked her.. we were only people dancing that night. Will never forget that.. This experience is one in life time for anybody because what are the odds??

I got her number but only to lose it in the wash next morning! Thanks mom!! lol. I found out this girl moved with her family to Florida since I found that friend of hers at Buttons 2 years later. Ohhhh!! It was perfect till the number was ruined!! Oh well.. I forgot her name.

I just went through this album and REALLY wanted to skate! I miss it sooo much. I wish I could take my kids here. Me and Sue Monica ran around this place thoughout the entire 80's. Good times!

Man looking at those pictures brought back a lot of memories....makes me wanna go get some skates on a go do a Jam session.

I met so many people there back in the early '80s. So many great memories with Bobby Landis, Mike Tracey, Kim & Kelly Airola,Kelly O'connor oh so many names escape me. Will be truely missed!

all i can say is MAN! the memories i have of sports-o-rama 37 years long.
