About Me
Hi fellow skaters!! I am Mark Falso who skated at Sports-O-Rama (and during Mark Colvin's Dance-N-Skate). I still call it Sports-O-Rama Roller Rink.
I first skated at Sports-O-Rama back in 1980 on an invitation to skate there by someone (at the time, a regular at Empire Skates East in Dewitt), I skated more often after Empire closed until I left the rink for another employment after a year stint as maintanance at Sports-O-Rama (when I left, Mark C just changed to Dance-N-Skate). I also designed the expansion that never took place. It was to enlarged the rink to attract more skaters and has that freshness of a rink than too common looking rinks elsewhere. The rink was to be an L shaped with a new dance center in the center! Also seating in the middle of the rink. The rink would have curved a little bit to make like a nascar track a bit. Take out the dance center and put a garage there for snow plow, repairs, and storage. The front would have remain the same as it was done by Howard in 1980 format, not the way new owners ruined it.
I would also have updated fresh look.. not those type painted.. it looks too cheapsy rink.. Drywalls up, skate borders on the bottom, better lighting.. new carpet.. better colors.. newer lockers.. and keep those Empire Skates high wire wheel seatings there.. You all know that those were from Empire Skates?? Really!
I am the guy who skated more of inside and often asked the ladies to couple skate with me. Often I get rejected.. so, if you know whom I am talking about, thats me! Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Please try again. 0 Comments |
